Gulmarg to Host India’s First-Ever Winter Music and Adventure Festival

Srinagar, March, 8 2012: World famous for its scenic beauty, folklore, one of world’s best powder snow, world’s highest cable, world class golfing, trekking, mountain biking skiing and lot more ….Gulmarg, Kashmir- “heartland of winter sports in India”, is all set to play host to India's first ever Winter Music and Adventure Festival. Scheduled to take place during the full moon Weekend, March 9-11, 2012, this festival is organized by Soul Curators & Synapses Adventures with Support of Jammu & Kashmir Tourism. In an attempt to encourge the growing Peace & Progress amongst all by providing one common platform to local artists, craftsmen and the folklore blending beautifully with some of the best bands, photographers, artists, film makers and tourists all over the world and encouraging all to keep it all clean and green this one of its kind festival in Gulmarg is all set to carve a niche for itself! GWG 2012 is a NO DRUG policy festival.
As a pre-cursor to this 3 day Music & Adventure extravaganza, the organizers of G.W.F. (Gulmarg Winter Festival) will host one of its kind interactive workshops for all tour operators in the name of Café Terra Travellers & Organizers Meet on 8th March 2012 in Gulamrg, starting from Morning 11 A.M to 4:00 P.M on various topics such as:
  • Presentation on how “Gulmarg Winter Festival” an event based on boosting Art, Culture, Adventure and Music is a boon to boost tourism in Gulmarg.
  • Workshop on how to boost business through Social Media.
  • Workshop on outdoor gadgets and gear by world’s leading brands like Salomon ‘The Mountain Sports Company’ and Suunto ‘The wristtop computers’.
  • Workshop on Snow and Safety procedures.
  • Presentation on “Adventure on Adventure Icons of India” and take nominations for the 1st series of local Adventure Icon.
While the Tour & Travel operators and local business …learn tricks of the trade to enhance their business and multiply their sales and attract more and more tourists to this destination every season, from this interesting and interactive all day long workshopping, the excitement manifolds as the main fiesta kick- starts next morning i.e. 9th-11th March 2012 at Heritage Hut from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM…The highlights of the 3 day extravaganza would be:
  • Adventure sports such as Snowboarding, Skiing, zorbing, paintball, and a lot of other fun and recreational activities.

With audience swaying to the soulful, foot tapping and lively music belted out by some of the sought-after Artists, getting to savor mouth- watering Kashmiri delicacies, shopping from Flea Bazaar- some of the finest handicrafts, jewelry, accessories meticulously crafted by the artisans of Kashmir, getting close to nature with Himalayas, snow capped mountains as a backdrop and using nature friendly zero residual damage products, they also get to witness a unique Film Festival i.e. Soul Film Festival, set in the evening for Showcasing 3 films across specific subjects like: Adventure, Music, Culture & Environment from the best in new cinema & creative films.
