KU to host Intl. seminar on Shah Hamadan’s contribution to learning and knowledge

Srinagar:, Mar 5 VOS): Shah-i-Hamadan Institute of Islamic Studies  Kashmir  University   is all  set to host 3day international seminar  from 13th of March on the  contribution of Shah Hamadaan to Knowledge and learning  and to the society as a whole .Confirming this , Prof  Hameed Naseem Rafiabadi, Head department of  Shah-i-Hamadan Institute of Islamic Studies said that   the contribution from Sayyid Ali Hamadani to the promotion of Islamic learning, sciences and society  is valuable as it made lasting imprints on the world societies in general and Kashmir society in particular.  He said the seminar is being held in this context only where  the  nature of these dimensions  will be discussed by the scholars of international  recognition. Noted Islamic studies scholars from world over are attending the seminar and discussing various themes related to the theme.

Prof Hameed Naseem said that the  broader Themes of the Seminar will be  Social Thought of shah Hamadaan, Shah Hamadaan as a reformer of Society and reformist Thinker,  his  Political Thought/Shari„ah (Islamic Law),Tasawwuf (Sufism), Islamic Learning/sciences (Ulum al-Quran,Hadith, Fiqh), . Intellectual Legacies of Islam: Ghazzali and Shahi-Hamadan,   Sufi Legacies of Islam: Ibn Arabi, Shah-i-, Hamadan, Shaykh al- Alam and Shaykh Hamza  Makhdum,. Legacy of Islamic Political Thought: Nizam ud- Din Tusi and Shah-i- Hamadan,  Economic Development,  Shah-i- Hamadan and Iqbal, relevance of Shah-i- Hamadan‟s Thought in the Contemporary Society and the critical Study of Shah-i- Hamadan‟s Works.

Prof Talat Ahmad Vice chancellor Kashmir University will  be  presiding the inaugural event of the seminar to be held on forenoon of 13th March.

Establishment in 1989, the Shah Hamadaan Institute of Islamic studies  has been actively  engaged in teaching the subject at PG level and carrying out research in the diverse themes of Islam and Muslim World.
