Department of youth Services & Sports Snow Skiing Courses-2011-12 Closed
GULMARG, MARCH 09: The department of Youth Services & Sports for the last 35 years has been conducting Snow Skiing Courses at Ski Resort Gulmarg and the year 2011-12 has not been any different. The department for 2011-12 has conducted 03 regular Snow Ski Courses at Gulmarg, 02 for Boys and 01 exclusively for Girls.
The courses were started on January 20th 2012 and have successfully concluded on March 8th 2012 and thus the activity of Skiing by the department of Youth Services & Sports for the year 2011-12 comes to a close.
International Skiers have been imparting training to the budding boys and girls on the slopes of Gulmarg to infuse in them the love for the sport and the enthusiasm to excel.
The Skiers were lodged in the huts of JK TDC hired by the department of Youth Services and Sports for the purpose and the boarding was taken care of by the department. Sufficient care of the Skiers on the slopes and off the slopes was taken by the officials of the department of Youth Services and Sports putting in their full effort to make the skiers as comfortable as possible. The overall development of the child, physical, mental, moral and emotional takes place through activities, therefore the officials of the department have worked hard to achieve the larger objective through Skiing.
As is said, that "Most of the talent in this world is lost for want of little courage", thus courage is inculcated in the personality of a child through skiing, when a beginner in skiing is made to Ski down the slopes only after a few days, after learning to stand on the Skies.
Skiing is a pleasure and the efforts by the department of Youth Services and Sports are afoot to extend to as many children possible and at the same time is competitive sport, and the department of Youth Services and Sports turns the non skiers into skiers, thus bringing small boys and girls into the orbit of competitive skiing, thus creating in them the thrill to excel.
For all this the Minister Medical Education, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Director Youth Services & Sports & the Department of Youth Services and Sports as whole are working hard to promote the sport.
