SAD-BJP returns to power in Punjab; creates history
Chandigarh, Mar 6: The ruling SAD-BJP combine today recorded a historic return to power in Punjab with a comfortable majority in the state, winning 68 of the 117 seats in the state. While the SAD bagged as many as 56 seats, its ally BJP managed to get 12 seats. The opposition Congress, which had gained a slight edge in most of the exit polls, ended up with only 46 seats in its kitty. The remaining three seats were won by Independents.
