Farmers awareness camp held at Noorpora, Zoohama
10 farmers from Ganderbal deputed for study tour
            SRINAGAR, MARCH 11: To reach every single door of farmers with the latest technologies, drive started by Agriculture department has gained momentum as the awareness camps organized are proving beneficial to the farmers of various districts of Kashmir division.
            The two training camps were organized by the department in Noorpora Tral and Zoohama Chadoora. Farmers in large gatherings participated at both the places and appreciated the steps taken by the department to uplift the farming community.
            At Noorpora Tral Chief Agriculture Officer Pulwama G H Guroo while addressing farmers appreciated their role and hard work in the upliftment of Agricultural and allied sectors. He asked farmers to participate in camps and training programmers organized by the department to remain updated with the latest techniques and machinery.
            He said, “The village Amlar Noorpora has been identified under the vegetable initiative program under which 20 hectares have been brought under the vegetable cluster for which 32 poly houses on 50 percent subsidy, 18 Vermi compost units with an assistance of Rs 30, 000 and Kharief vegetable hybrid seed on 90 percent subsidy will be distributed among the farmers of the vegetable cluster.”
            Another training camp was organized under Infrastructural Facility for Seed Production at agricultural zone Zoohama with active participation of farmers including Panchs and Sarpanchs of the Block Chadoora.
            Addressing to the farmers the Sub Divisional Agricultural Officer Chadoora Riyaz Ahmad advised farmers to take the full benefits from the schemes and to be in touch with the field staff for support and guidance. He apprised of the measures to be adopted for different crops in the upcoming Kharief season.
            At the conclusion of awareness camp 40 poly films with hybrid vegetable seed kits were provided to 40 Panchayat halqas of Zoohama Block for raining vegetable seedlings.
            The farmers were imparted with training and were made aware of the various programs run by the agricultural department under different schemes.
            Meanwhile 10 farmers of district Ganderbal were deputed for exposure visit in Northern India by the department under ATMA program. They were flagged off by Chief Agriculture Officer Ganderbal, Shah Sajjad.
