FIR against Dr. Farooq

Jammu, Mar 8 (VOS) Bashir Asad: Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday staged a walkout from the Legislative Assembly demanding that FIR should be registered against the president of JK  Cricket Association (JKCA) Chief Dr Farooq Abdullah.  The issue of multi crore scam in Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association was racked when  Peerzada Mansoor Hussain of opposition PDP during question hour intervened by asking a  supplementary on QD of Ashwani Sharma. Mansoor Hussain though first asked a pointed question about the establishment ITI in his constituency, he soon raised the issue of JKCA scam while
handing over the news story about the scam to the Speaker. Both Minister for Youth Services and Sports R S Chib and Speaker Muhammad Akbar Lone observed that the issue was relating to an autonomous body which is under the direct control of BCCI and as such cannot be raised in the house. On this PDP president Mehbooba Mufti stood up from her seat and demanded inquiry into the  scam and registration of FIR against JKCA president Dr. Farooq Abdullah. “Very big leader is  heading that organization and Haji Yusuf had already confessed of Dr.Farooq Abdullah taking money, Inquiry should be conducted into the matter and FIR should be registered against him’  Mehbooba said. She was supported by all the PDP legislators who latter staged a walk out from the house in protest.  Pertinently reports of JKCA been embezzled millions of rupees in the name of sports development were carried by a section of press on Thursday. “Fake accounts have been created  to divert funds of the association into some personal accounts. Chief Administrative officer  Saleem Khan has been terminated in this regards and another tainted official has resigned” reported a news channel. However, Panthers Party and BJP MLAs were mute spectators on the issue.
