Farmers Awareness Camps held at Mawar, Charwni and Batapora
Rs. 56 lakhs incentive provided to farmers of District Ganderbal
            SRINAGAR, MARCH 18: Through series of events organized by the Agriculture Department to arrange technological handover and reckon the future of agriculture on scientific lines to promote agriculture sector, for that Farmers Awareness cum Exhibitions were held throughout Valley. In this connection Farmers Awareness cum Exhibitions  were held at Mawar Kangan, Charwni Chrar-i-Sharief and Batapora Beerwah.
            At Mawar Kangan, Chief Agriculture Officer Ganderbal, Sajad Ahmed Shah apprised the farmers about the schemes launched by department under centrally sponsored and District plan schemes. He assured farmers about timely supply of seeds and other inputs during ensuing Kharief season. He said that during the current year farmers of District Ganderbal purchased 275 Irrigation pump sets,11 Power tillers,3 Tractors,72 Foot sprayers, 48 Polygreen houses besides 53 Vermi compost units were established for which Rs.56 Lakhs incentive was provided to farmers.
            On this occasion, Manager J&K Bank had detailed deliberation with participant farmers regarding Kissan Credit Cards and assured them the facility will be provided after completing requisite formalities. On the conclusion, 57 Polyfilms with Hybrid vegetable seed kits were distributed to 57 Panchyat Halqas for raising vegetable seedlings under protected cultivation.
            At Charwni Chrar-i-Sharief, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Riyaz Ahmad Tibetbaqal advised participant farmers to adopt latest research tips from Labs to boost agriculture production and side by side adopt Beekeeping, Mushroom, Vegetable and Flower cultivation.
            At Batapora Beerwah, MLA Dr. Mohammad Shafi lauded the role of agriculture department for organising Farmers awareness camps at doorsteps of farmers. He advised farmers to take benefit of the schemes launched by the department and coordinate with agriculture department for successful implementation of various Krishi welfare schemes.
            Meanwhile such Farmers awareness Camps were held at Nishat, Khansahib and Abihama Pulwama also.
            Large number of farmers including Panch and Sarpanchs participated in these camps and interacted with experts of agriculture department about proper use of inputs and measures for optimum cropping.
