About 6 lakh unemployed educated youth registered with E&CC : Malik

Minister for Labour & Employment Mr. Abdul Gani Malik has said that near about 6 lakh educated unemployed youth of the state have been registered with district Employment and Counseling Centers (E&CC) up to December 2011, of which 40559 are professional and 3695 are other skilled youth, he added.

This was stated by the Minister in reply to a question by Mr. Nizam-ud-Din Bhat in Legislative Assembly here today. He said the Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for the youth has been launched in the state to tackle the problem of the unemployment in a systematic and coordinated manner. He said it is a dynamic programme capable of improvement on the basis of experience under the guidance of Employment Facilitating Agency headed by Finance Minister. He said there is no need to have new policy for the present.
