Awareness camp held at Kakpora
            PULWAMA, MARCH 12: Agriculture department today organized an awareness camp under ‘Farmers Field School’ at Mohanvej Kakpora Pulwama where large number of farmer participated to remain updated with the latest research and machinery in the sector.
            Farmers interacted with the experts of the department and were made aware of the various programmes run by the agricultural department under different schemes.
            District subject matter specialist said that the agriculture department is committed for upliftment of farming community and today’s camp shall not boost their morale only but shall provide them opportunity to interact with the experts of department.
            Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Kakpora speaking on the occasion asked farmers to use latest machinery and techniques to uplift the agriculture sector. He said, “If we concentrate on harnessing the potential we can give considerable fillip to our economy.”
            The experts made a comprehensive presentation on the cultivation of various crops, their importance in cropping system, diversification of cropping system and their economic benefits for the farmers, use of balanced dose of fertilizers, organic farming and other measures for obtaining maximum productivity.
            Participating farmers gave an overwhelming response to the organized awareness camp. Farmers appreciated the efforts of department in the upliftment of farming community.
            At the conclusion of awareness camp peas seed kits were provided free of cost among the participant farmers for demonstration purpose.
