Self Employment camp at Brah Shangus

Srinagar, July 10: District administration Anantnag held an awareness camp at Brah Shangus today to make people aware about different government schemes. Officers of all the departments participated in the awareness camp. The departments include Horticulture, agriculture, DIC, fisheries, sheep husbandry, animal Husbandry, KVIB etc.
Participants were briefed about the SKEWPY scheme and other schemes of the government aimed at encouraging unemployed educated youth to set up their own ventures.
The new initiative of the district administration was hailed by people. People said they were not aware about the scheme earlier.
The officers were directed by the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag to provide full cooperation to people and provide loans on timely basis in favour of the beneficiaries of the government schemes..
Police solves Kashfab Shawls Mill burglary
Six arrested, Shawls recovered

Srinagar, July 10: Police has solved a case of burglary carried out at a Kashfab Shawal mills , Zainakoot and arrested six employees of the mill for their involvement in the burglary.
SDPO West Dr. Shailendra Mishra (IPS) while giving details said that consequent on the burglary at the factory a case FIR No. 202/2012 under section 457, 380 RPC was registered in Police Station Parimpora on 06-07-2012 and the investigation of the case was taken in hand.
During the course of investigation Police arrested some employees of the unit, and during the preliminary questioning to one employee Fayaz Ahmad Ganie son of  Sonaullah Ganie resident of Check Kawoosa  Stolen  Shawls worth Rs 07 Lacs were recovered  from Check Kawoosa. The other accused are Naseer Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar resident of  Narbal, Muhammad Maqbool Sheikh son of Abdul Aziz Sheikh resident of Pamposh Colony, Bilal Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Mir resident of Mustafabad , Javaid Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Ahad resident of  Watlab and Muhammad Yaqoob Ganie son of Abdul Ahad resident of  Check Kawoosa.
A vehicle bearing registration No JK01L-1902 used for the commission crime has also been seized. The investigation of the case is going on and further arrests are expected, police said.

First Sopore T-20 Cricket Contest
United and Syndicate move up to the third round

Srinagar, July 10: In the ongoing Sopore T-20 Cricket Contest organized by J&K Police at Sopore, two matches were played today here at Khushal Sports Stadium Sopore.
The first match was played between United Cricket Club and Yousf Strikers Baba Yousf. Playing first Baba Yousf set a target of 135 runs before the opposite team losing nine wickets. In return United’s fought back and accomplished the target in 17 overs sparing 18 balls winning the match by four wickets. Iqbal was declared as man of the match who scored 43 runs and got one wicket.

The second match of the tournament was played between Shah Rafiq Cricket Club and Syndicate Cricket Club Sopore. Shah Rafiq Club played first and scored 122 runs setting a moderate target before the opposite team. Fighting back, Syndicates accomplished the target in 19.2 overs winning the match by five wickets. Feroze Ahmad of the winning team was declared man of the match, for his individual score of 30 runs.         

“Fazil Kashmiri Day” on July 11 at Radio Kashmir auditorium

Srinagar, July 10: To observe the eighth death anniversary of noted poet, writer and teacher Late Fazil Kashmiri, Adbee Markaz Kamraz in collaboration with Fazil Memorial Trust and Radio Kashmir Srinagar is organising “Fazil Kashmiri Day” at Radio Kashmir auditorium on Wednesday 11th of July. The function shall start at 2.30 pm. MoS Home Mr Nasir Aslam Wani will be chief guest on the occasion. Besides other segments, the annual “Fazil Kashmiri Award” will also be given away, said a press statement from the AMK.
 “Mehfil-e mousiqi” wherein prominent singers of the Valley will give rendition to “kalam-e Fazil Kashmiri” will be part of the event.  A galaxy of poets and literary personalities across the Valley are attending the function, added the statement.
J&K Bank RSETI Kupwara concludes training programme

Srinagar, July 10: J&K Bank RSETI Kupwara concluded its 5th skill development programme on knitting. Thirty one trainees of three Self Help Groups from Lassipora and Gagal areas were imparted training for ten days.
The trainees were identified and sponsored by DRDA, Kupwara and belonged to Below Poverty Line, said a statement issued by the bank here today.
Mohammed Younis Patoo, Bank's Vice President presided over the valedictory function that was attended by DRDA officials, Bank executives and representatives of other line- departments.
Director of the Institute, Mohammad Afzal Shah distributed ‘Certificate of Participation’ among the trainees.
Speaking on the occasion, he impressed upon the outgoing trainees to utilize their potential fully and employ their skills properly in their future ventures to become successful entrepreneurs.
Self-employment is the best way to earn ones livelihood with dignity, he added.
He further said that the trainees had lively interactions with bankers, sponsoring agencies, educationists, Religious scholars during the training programme. 
Meanwhile, medical check-up was also arranged for trainees and free medicines were distributed among weak and needy.
