J&K Bank inaugurates 2
Business Units in Jammu
Srinagar, July 23 (VOS): J&K Bank today inaugurated two new state-of-the-art Business
Units (B.U) in the agriculture belt of Marh & Udheywala areas of Jammu
District.
Chief General Manager, NABARD, Jammu S C Rabra
inaugurated the B.U’s in presence of O P Sharma Bank’s President & Zonal
Head Jammu (Central), Arvind Gupta Vice President, Vinay Sawhney Cluster Head, officers
of the Bank and a large number of Sarpanches, Panchs and local residents.
Speaking on occasion Zonal Head said, “It is a
moment of pleasure and satisfaction to dedicate these fully computerized
Business Units to the people of Marh and Udheywala.”
He urged the people to avail the benefits of
products and services of the bank.
Emphasizing that the initiative focuses on
agricultural financing, spreading base of Kissan Credit Card, Financial
Inclusion, he said that the B.U will go a long way in helping the natives earn
their livelihood through agriculture & allied-activities.
This will also facilitate opening of
micro-deposits and savings accounts for low-income groups who have no access to
banking previously, he added.
CGM NABARD appreciated the Bank's commitment to
reach every un-banked corner of the state and provide Kissan Credit Cards and
other agro-based financial products to the people associated with agriculture.
He also explained the role of NABARD for
extending financial support to the Bank for financial inclusion.
The Sarpanches, Panchs and local residents
appreciated efforts of the Bank’s leadership for extending the world class
banking facilities at their doorstep.
An opportunity for police to
introspect: Nayeem Khan
Condemns Mushtaq ul Islam’s
re-arrest
Srinagar, July 23 (VOS): National Front chairman Nayeem Ahmad Khan has asked police
personnel to introspect as to how they are being used to trouble their own
people even during the holy month of Ramadan.
“Booking of Mushtaq-ul-Islam under draconian PSA
just after five days of his release has provided an opportunity for police
personal to introspect that how they are being used to trouble their own
brethren even during the Holy month of Ramazan”, saidNayeem Ahmad Khan in a
statement after visiting the house of Mushtaq-ul-Islam.
Khan while condemning the re-arrest of
Mushtaq-ul-Islam said, “Police is breaking all the records of oppression and
the irony is that Kashmir Police is being used to trouble their own brethren”.
He said police are being used as a tool of oppression.
Khan also said that there are hundreds of
Kashmiri prisoners who are languishing in different jails of the state or
outside and their only sin is that they are the advocates of freedom and
Justice. Khan said that Prisoners like Gh Qadir Bhat of Kupwara are languishing
in jails since 17 years and even judicial orders about their shifting are not
being implemented which is an indicator of the state of justice. Even a number
of Kashmiries are facing hardships in the infamous Tihar and other jails of
India were these Kashmiries are being treated as criminals even though they are
fighting for a cause and under rules deserve a status of political deteunes.
Nayeem Ahmad Khan expressed shock over the
continuous arresting of Youth in Srinagar, Islamabad, Shopian, Sopore and other
parts of the valley.
Khan in his statement appealed the people to
offer special prayers for the security and release of prisoners who are facing
deteriorating conditions because they talk of freedom and justice. Khan said
that even proper medical facilities are not being provided to Kashmiri
prisoners especially in the jails situated outside the valley.
Salvation movements starts

Srinagar, July 23(VOS): Senior Hurriyat leader and Chairman JK Salvation Movement Zaffar
Akber Bhat along with Zulfiqar Hamid, Javed Ahmed, Muzaffar Ahmed, Bilal Ahmed
visited Akhaal, Tang Chitter, Palpora and Kangan of Ganderbal as part of
organisation’s mass contact programme.
At Martyers graveyard in Kangan he paid glowing
tributes to Engineer Dr. Abrar, Ali mohmmad Shah, Dr Aamir Shabir, Gh. Nabi War
amnd other martyers of kashmir. He also paid rich tributes to Commander Masood
Tantary on his 10thn martyers anniversary and said that Martyers of kashmir
have rendered matchless scarifices for resuloution of kashmir dispute
according to whishes of people of kashmir. They have done their job and it is
our duty to take the martyers mission to its logical end.
Meanwhile Zaffar condemned the re arrest of Resistance leader Mushtaq ul islam under PSA and said that such pressure tactics cannot suppress the movement.
He also condmned the continue detetion of Jammu region detenues including Hilal ahmed Beigh, Qazi Imran, Neetu Bahie and other womens who have been booked for helping the movement. He appealed to the International human rights watch and other institutions to approach GOI for release of all detenues including M. Ayoub Dar, Yasin Yatoo, Muzaffar Dar, Misbah Nisar, Ayoub Mir and G Q Bhat

Saroori congratulates
Pranab
Srinagar, 23 July (VOS):
Former Minister and MLA Inderwal G M Saroori has extended hearty
congratulations and best wishes to newly elected President Pranab Mukherjee.
Saroori said that country’s democratic traditions will be strengthened with an
experienced personality like Mukherjee becoming President of India.
He said that Mukherjee’s life is dedicated to
value-based politics and dignity of parliamentary traditions during his five
decade old political career. Known as ‘sankatmochan’ (troubleshooter),
Mukherjee always remains ready to face challenges. Even in most difficult
situations, he did not deviate from mutual dialogue and consensus.
