addressed party Conventions at Vijaypur in Samba and Trewa in Bishnah
Assembly segment on July 7. He thanked the people for the warm and heartiest
welcome accorded to him and the other members of the National Conference party

Pakistan in keeping with the wishes of people of Jammu & Kashmir State and
also redouble efforts for the restoration of greater autonomy within the Indian
Union harmony between India and Pakistan.
Terming the recent
statement of a BJP leader Shri Arun Jately at Jammu that Pandit Jawarharlal
Nehru was responsible for the Kashmir problem Viz –a – Viz Article 370 of the
Indian Constitution and the Delhi agreement of 1952 as mis –conceived. He
said both these provisions of our National Constitution have been incorporated
by the will of both houses of Parliament in which late Shyama
Prasad Mukerjee was a member of Lok Sabha and industries Minister
in Nehru’s Cabinet . It is thus endorsed by the people of India and not a
creation of Jawharlal Nehru . The problem started when these solemn commitments
by the people of India through their representatives in the first elected
parliament of India was unilaterally eroded in a systematically is a treachery
committed against the people of J&K state. This is the root cause of
alienation of the people of J&K from the Indian mainstream. It is high time
that New Delhi makes up for past blunders and wins the hearts of the people by
accepting the recommendations of the Sageer working group on center – state
relations.
He called it a cheap
gimmick of BJP leader Arun Jately that late Shyama Prasad Mukerjee laid down
his life for the integration of J&K with India . It was the Indian
parliament which gave the state a special status within the union by making the
accession conditional under terms and conditions of the instrument of accession
of Maharaja Hari Singh. Late Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was died natural death
due to heart attack.
