Mirwaiz asks people to
self-introspect
Sees pattern in fire
incidents at religious places
Srinagar, July 23 (VOS): Chairman Hurriyat Conference (M) and Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Mirwaiz
Umar Farooq has asked people to revisit their own faults and self introspect
during the auspicious month of Ramadan.
“We cannot blame government for our own faults.
If we indulge into dishonesty, lying, hoarding, black marketing etc., we are to
blame ourselves only”, said Mirwaiz while speaking to VOS. He appealed people to take corrective action, “which is the main
aim of the holy month of Ramadan”.
While condemning the incidents of fire and
desecration at various religious places across the valley, Mirwaiz said these
incidents were part of a definite design and conspiracy to disturb religious
harmony in the valley. He condemned the reported attempt of desecration of a
mosque at Beeru in Budgam district, calling it a handiwork of miscreants to
disturb religious and sectarian harmony in the state.
He reiterated his appeal to people of the valley
to remain vigilant against divisive forces and ensure safety of shrines and
other religious places.(VOS)
