Bottleneck for construction of 5 kms road from Kotli to Shikari cleared: Altaf, Malik
SRINAGAR, JULY 07- Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Employment, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik visited far-flung areas of Mahore Tehsil of district Reasi and took stock of the problems confronting people in respect of basic amenities.
Mr. Malik was accompanied by Minister for Forests and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmed.
The dignitaries inspected areas of Mahore where road projects have been taken in hand under PMGSY and 5 kms road from Kotli to Shikari is under construction, pending for some forest clearance.
Forest Minister on the spot issued instructions to concerned DFO and Exen R&B to continue the construction work on the 5 kms belt so that the people are provided road connectivity as soon as possible.
Further survey on 8 kms Shikari to Bhallar road has already been conducted but DPR’s are being prepared for starting the project, Mr. Malik said.
Similarly, one more road project from Shikari to Tooki Banna and Ganjar Bhallar to Tooli Banna is also under consideration.
Sarpanches and Panches of Mahore Tehsil projected various demands on the occasion which include opening up of mobile school, upgradation of middle school to high school at Shikari, Health sub-centre to PHC and opening up of Animal Husbandry Centre and sheep husbandry centre in these areas.
The demands included setting up of Niabat and construction of foot suspension bridge on Aanus nallah at Dubri.
The dignitaries assured that their genuine demands would be taken up with Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and concerned departments for consideration.
