Expressing concern, Mirwaiz said that recently anti--Islam forces
present in America have depicted blasphemous images of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
(PBUH) in a film. He said it was highly condemnable.
“It is a very sensitive issue. It has hurt the religious emotions
of entire Muslim Ummah and enraged Muslims around the world,” Mirwaiz said.
Castigating such acts in stern terms, Mirwaiz said Muslims can
never tolerate such a disrespect shown towards Prophet Muhammad (SAW) (PBUH)
who brought light to the world.

are going to bear the desecration of Quran Karim or disrespect shown towards
the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) (PBUH).

that countries around the world who advocate bonhomie and love between religion
and people are attaining criminal silence over the issue, adding, it has only
infuriated Muslims.

unreasonable and unrealistic”, he said.

writes a facebook user Rashid ul Nabi Khan in his post on facebook.
Another user
Syed Arsalan demonstrates his anger while registering his protest on facebook.

harm and shake theit faith, but we’ll not resort to such means. We can discuss
but we cannot abuse, being the followers of Prophet Mohhammad (SAW).”

Nazir
Gilani presents memorandum to UN
‘Kashmir’s
fate can only be decided by its people’
Reaffirming that the
fate of people of Jammu and Kashmir has to be decided according to their will
through plebiscite as adopted by the United Nations on 30th March 1951,
President of J&K Council for Human Rights Dr. Nazir Geelan has presented a
memorandum to the UNO.
He presented
memorandum to the twenty first Session of Human Rights Council of the UNO.
Memorandum
presented by the Nazir asserted that the State Assembly of J&K has no
authority to take any resolution to determine the fate of the people of the
State.
“It is important
to point out that the three assemblies functioning at Srinagar, Muzaffarabad
and Gilgit are elected from only a part of the whole territory of the State of
Jammu and Kashmir. The territories of the State are defined in article 4 of the
Jammu and Kashmir Constitution and the incompleteness of these three assemblies
is fully recognized in the caution of UN Security Council Resolution of 30
March 1951.” reads memorandum.
In his memorandum
he has focused on impartial plebiscite and stressed upon the adopted UNO
resolution regarding Kashmir issue, “Accordingly India and Pakistan under the
provisions of UNCIP resolutions of 13 August 1948 and 5 January 1948 have
affirmed that “the future of the State of Jammu and Kashmir shall be decided
through the democratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite conducted
under the auspices of the United Nations”. It reads.
Memorandum
also mentions about the historical resolution adopted by the UNO from time to
time and the promises made to people of J&K “The UN Security Council
Resolution of 30 March 1951 has recognised the incompleteness of the Srinagar
assembly elected from only a part of the whole territory of Jammu and Kashmir
and the principle makes the other two assemblies elected at Muzaffarabad and
Gilgit also incomplete. This resolution has warned that, “any action that
assembly (at Srinagar) might attempt to take to determine the future shape and
affiliation of the entire State or any part thereof would not constitute a
disposition of the State in accordance with the above principle”. The same
principle upholding the infirmity of one assembly applies to the other two
assemblies which remain under the administrative control of Pakistan.” It
reads.
Nazir, in his
memorandum has made a prayer for the right to self determination for the people
of J&K. “The principle about the equality of the people of Kashmir in
their right to self determination and importance of peace and security is as
true today as it was at the time of passing the UN Security Council resolution
91 (1951) of 30 March 1951. The Security Council declaration, that, “it is the
duty of the Security Council in carrying out its primary responsibility for the
maintenance of international peace and security, to aid the parties to reach an
amicable solution of the Kashmir dispute and that a prompt settlement of this
dispute is of vital importance to the maintenance of international peace and
security”, remains in the best interests of the constituency of shared peace
between the people of India, Pakistan and Kashmir.” It reads.
Talking to VOS on
phone, Nazir said that the memorandum, after due consideration, has been
accepted by the council which makes it apparent that that the UNO respects the right to self to
determination of the people of J&K and has maintained its stand on its
previous adopted resolutions by security council.
