fall at the Shrine yesterday. The Governor directed all the Agencies involved

registered themselves. This would ensure against any avoidable difficulties.

traveling by the helicopter services, their heli tickets will be considered as
registration but they would not be allowed to board if they do not produce the
required Health Certificate, duly signed and stamped by a registered Medical
Practitioner.
The Additional CEO further said that the Board has also
issued a detailed Advisory of Do’s and Don’ts for the Yatris visiting the Holy

delayed on account of clashing of dates with the Presidential elections in
India

date.
External

Zargar
also informed KNS the department is bound by 2038 vision document,
under which the department will be able to cater to a projected population of
38 lakh souls in the Srinagar city by year 2038.
The
Chief Engineer claimed the government has surplus water for supplying to
consumers across the valley. “Our present daily storage and supply capacity is

Grand Mufti calls for strike, Khanyar march
Smell conspiracy, says “law and order govt’s headache”
Sirnagar June 27 (KNS): Grand Mufti of Kashmir Mufti Bashiruddin has asked people to
assemble at Lal Chowk on Friday to hold a march towards Khanyar where the
shrine of Dastgir Sahib gutted in a fire incident on Monday. He has also called
for valley wide shutdown on June 28.
“Strike
will allow people to mourn the loss of the most revered shrine and give them
time to give a vent to their angst”, the Grand Mufti told KNS when asked if he hand changed his stand on hartals.
The
Mufti clarified that his aim is not to create any disturbances or law and order
problems. However, the Grand Mufti said law and order is the government’s
headache.
In
a scathing attack on the government Mufti Bashiruddin said the government
failed to consult him before ordering a probe or clearing up the material from
the gutted site.
“Religious
matters are our concern, not the governments’. They should have consulted us”,
he said. “They feel government will last for ever, which it does not”, an
agitated Mufti toldKNS over phone.
Mufti
Bashiruddin also said he smells conspiracy in the incident of fire at the
Dastgir Sahib Shrine. He also held government responsible for the incident.
“Government is responsible and the Wakf Board is responsible for the incident
of fire”, said the Mufti.
“If
there were people from security agencies, how did this happen”, said the Grand
Mufti adding he was not pointing fingers towards any on.
Casting
aspertions on the circumstances under whieh the fire broke out at the shrine,
the Grand Mufti said, “If government and wakf people remain there round the
clock, I fail to understand how it could happen in their presence. I can’t
understand how fire broke out from three sides simultaneously”, added the Grand
Mufti.
When
there was no electric supply how could short circuit happen and that too on three
sides, asked the Grand Mufti.
Mufti
Bashiruddin also hit out at the government over what he calls ‘traditional
approach towards investigating such a sensitive matter’. “They should have
included someone from among us in the probe committee. They did not consult or
contact me either”, said the Grand Mufti.
He
also criticized the government for cleaning up the gutted shrine site without
completing the forensic investigations.
Mufti
Bashiruddin also expressed his angst over anonymous facebook threats against
the religious heritage of the valley. “The government must identify and arrest
such mischievous elements”, said the Mufti.
When
asked why he changed his stand on hartals when he had himself gone against
stirkes in 2010, the grand mufti said a message needs to be conveyed. “Let
Muslims tell government and people who are against the religious heritages that
they cannot tolerate the gutting of a mosque. “Strike is no big deal, let
people express their emotions”, Mufti Bashiruddin said. (KNS)

elements attacked the faces of movement which is an indication that a big
conspiracy has been made against the Political Leadership of Kashmiries and if

the ongoing resistance movement.

PDP vitiating the atmosphere and adding fuel to fire
NC calls-off meetings
Sirnagar June 27 (KNS): After strictly adhering to its decision of suspending all
political activities for two days, National Conference today called-off an
important meeting scheduled for 28th June and also the weekly Friday meetings
to be held on 29th June at the party headquarter.
“At
the provincial level the Party Leaders including District presidents and Block
presidents were supposed to meet on 28th June at Party Headquarter and
finalize the arrangements for the death anniversary of Begum Sher-e-Kashmir on
11th July and Martyrs day on the 13th July, but respecting the sentiments
of the people, the party has decided to call-off the meeting, which will now be
held on the 3rd July at 10.30 am at the same venue” said party spokesman Tanvir
Sadiq.
Tanvir
said, “In addition to this the party has also called off its weekly Friday
meeting at Nawia-Subh, adding that we understand the pain and the sentiments of
the people and will not play petty politics like PDP”.
“While
as PDP hoodwinks the gullible in Kashmir with green flags, tries to don the
mantle of a messiah and falsely claiming to cancel all political activities but
in Jammu PDP Patron Mufti Mohd Sayeed and Muzaffar Beigh enjoy a five start
lavish meal at Ashoka Hotel only to connive with other leaders about how to
take an opportunity out of this unfortunate incident and gain power” said
Tanvir.
“Did
they think people would not come to know about their gimmick that they are
continuing their political activities unabated?” He added
“Their
statement is aimed at vitiating the atmosphere and adding fuel to the fire. The
people have understood how scheming and treacherous their politics has become
otherwise why they would broach subjects that can have ramification” said
Tanvir
“If
their leadership was so concerned they should have remained within the people
and shared their grief instead of having a good time elsewhere, People have
understood and will hold them responsible for their anti-people and anti-
Kashmir activities” He added.
“People
of the entire state irrespective of religion and beliefs are anguished and in a
state of mourning, but people have to maintain peace and exercise
restraint and exhibit highest degree of tolerance” said Tanvir “Omar Abdullah

reconstructed as per its old design and architecture and restored to its
