Omar Visits Dastgeer Sahib Shrine
SRINAGAR, JUNE 26 – After cutting short his visit to the United Kingdom, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah arrived here today and straight drove to the gutted Shrine of Peer-e-Dastgeer Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) at Khanyar for an on the spot inspection and assessment of the quantum of damage.
The Chief Minister who was accompanied by the Minister for Rural Development, Ali Mohammad Sagar, Advisor to the Chief Minister, Mubarak Gul, Minister of State for Home, Nasir Aslam Wani , Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Devender Singh Rana, Principal Secretary Home, B. R. Sharma, Director General Police, K. Rajindra and Vice Chairman, Muslim Waqaf Board,  M. Y. Qadri interacted with Sajad Nasheen Syed Khalid Hussain Jeelani, locals and the management of the revered Shrine.
            Later talking to the media, Omar Abdullah said that the Holy Shrine will be restored to its original glory and the best possible expertise engaged in the process of restoration.
The Chief Minister appealed to the people to maintain peace and exercise restraint and exhibit highest degree of tolerance. He said the entire State is anguished and is in a state of mourning. He urged the people of the State to beware of divisive forces whose sole objective is to disrupt peace and harmony.  “All of us who regard and respect the divine and revered Shrine should stand for peace and tolerance”, he asserted. 

Jora, Shabir grieved over Dastgeer Sahib fire incident
Appealed people to maintain peace, amity
            SRINAGAR, JUNE 26: Minister for Tourism and Culture Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora has expressed his profound shock and grief over the fire incident in which revered Shrine of Peer Dastgeer Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) at Khanyar Srinagar was gutted yesterday.
            In a statement, Mr. Jora has said that Peer Dastgeer (RA) was a great saint and religious scholar who spread the light of Islam in the State and contributed a lot in reforming the society. “He is respected and revered equally by all including Muslims and Non-Muslims of the State,” Mr. Jora said adding that it was a matter of great satisfaction that all the Tabarkats including holy relic of Peer Dastgeer (RA) and rare quranic manuscripts have been saved and are in the safe custody of Sajad Nisheen of the Shrine.
            Mr. Jora appealed to the people to maintain peace, calm and amity at this hour of grief, adding that Muslim Auqaf Board has been asked to undertake the construction of the gutted shrine complex immediately.
            Meanwhile, Minister of state for Power, CA&PD, Forest and Transport Mr. Shabir Ahmed Khan has also expressed deep shock and anguish over the fire incident at the Holy Shrine of Peer Dastgeer, Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) at Khanyar.
            Sharing the grief of the people on the unfortunate incident, the Minister appealed the people to maintain calm and remained composed in this hour of sorrow. He also expressed satisfaction over the safety and security of the holy relics.

Ajaz shocked over Peer Dastgeer Sahib fire incident
            SRINAGAR, JUNE 26- Minister of state for Haj and Auquaf, Mr. Ajaz Ahmed Khan has expressed shock over the fire incident at the shrine of Peer Dastgeer Sahib (RA) yesterday. He described the incident as unfortunate.
            Mr. Ajaz, who is in touch with various agencies since the incident took place, however, expressed satisfaction over the safety of holly relic and other sacred monuments despite the fire.
            The Minister hoped that a new shrine complex would be constructed soon on the same design of the previous building.

Peer Dastgeer Sahib (RA) shrine to be re-constructed soon: Sagar 
            SRINAGAR, JUNE 26- Minister for Rural Development, Law, Justice, Panchayati Raj and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar today visited the shrine of Peer Dastgeer Sahib (RA).
He was accompanied by Minister of State for Home, Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani and District Development Commissioner, Mr. Baseer Ahmed Khan.
Mr. Sagar while interacting with the Sajad Nasheen Syed Khalid Hussain Geelani said that the government has already constituted a team under Divisional Commissioner to enquire into the fire incident and maintained that the government will also ensure the reconstruction of the revered shrine on the old heritage pattern.

Chib visits Peer Dastgeer Shrine
 SRINAGAR JUNE 26: Minister for youth Services and Sports Mr. R S Chib today visited the historical shrine of Peer Dastgeer Sahib (RA) which gutted into a fire incident yesterday.
The Minister expressed shock over the fire incident and describes it as unfortunate. He said that an enquiry would be conducted to bring fore the facts of the incident. He went round the shrine, took stock of the situation and hoped that new shrine complex would be constructed soon. He appreciated the Aquaf management for making arrangements for the devotees for paying Namaz in the premises.
Earlier, the Minister also attended a rally organized by J&K Voluntarily Health Association on World Anti- Drug Day.

Div Com visits Shrine of Dastgir Sahib
            SRINAGAR, JUNE 26: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon conducted extensive tour of Shrine of Hazrat Dastgir Sahib at Khanyar today, since morning, to take stock of the situation and follow-up measures to protect the sanctity of the Holy Shrine. Div Com was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar Baseer Ahmed Khan. He interacted with the Muslim Auqaf Trust, Trustees of the Shrine, senior officers of various departments and locals of the area.
          Instructions were reiterated to officers to take immediate steps to clean the premises and vicinity of the Shrine and facilitate regular prayers, within the Shrine premises.
            Expressing grief over the fire incident, Divisional Commissioner urged the general public to maintain peace & tranquillity and not to get carried away by rumours.

Amrit Malhotra grieved over Dastageer Sb (RA) fire incident
SRINAGAR, JUNE 26: Chairman, Legislative Council, Mr. Amrit Malhotra has expressed shock and grief over yesterday’s fire incident at the shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani(RA) at Khanyar.
In a message, the chairman said he is deeply hurt to know of the incident at the shrine which has been the source of solace to lakhs of people irrespective of caste creed or colour.
The Chairman has appealed people to maintain peace and also asked authorities to start re construction work at the shrine on war footing basis.

Governor inaugurates All India Forensic Science Conference
Calls for utilizing latest scientific techniques to investigate organized crime, mafia and terrorist offences  
SRINAGAR, JUNE 26 – Mr. N. N. Vohra, Governor Jammu and Kashmir, today called upon the Forensic Science experts to utilize the latest scientific approaches and techniques for the detection and investigation of organized crime, mafia and terrorist offences to establish irrefutable scientific evidence for bringing the criminals to book.
 The Governor, as Chief Guest, was inaugurating the “22nd All India Forensic Science Conference”, at SKICC, here today. This 3-day Conference has been organized by the Directorate of Forensic Science Services, Union Ministry of Home Affairs, in collaboration with the Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory, Jammu and Kashmir.       
The Governor observed “crime is not what it used to be half a century ago when foot prints were traced to apprehend the criminals. Today, criminality is without geographical or territorial boundaries. Mafia and terrorist groups are committing remote controlled crime and perpetrating violence by using state of the art weapons and equipments”. Therefore, the investigating agencies and Forensic Sciences experts have to be several steps ahead of the criminals to effectively deal with them. This, he said, calls for much closer coordination among the investigation agencies, real time exchange of data and investigation findings and use of advanced gadgetry, hi-tech labs and techniques for cracking difficult criminal cases.     
Referring to Jammu and Kashmir, the Governor said that there is urgent need for building capacities and upgrading forensic science laboratories in the State. He added that this facility is required to be established at the district level for timely investigation of cases. While expressing satisfaction that the Centre had sanctioned 5 Mobile Forensic Science Laboratories for the State, he recommended urgent steps being taken to upgrade this facility at the State level. He observed that for ensuring effective investigations and competent prosecution of cases we have to strengthen our crime detection and investigation mechanisms by upgrading our forensic science labs.
The Governor congratulated the Union Home Ministry and the State Home Department for organizing this Conference on a very relevant theme and believed that the recommendations of this Conference, in which experts from within the country and abroad are participating, would be of immense importance for the State and the country in regard to the detection and investigation of crime. He wished the participants of the Conference fruitful deliberations.    
The Governor released a Souvenir brought out on the occasion.
Earlier, the Governor lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the commencement of the Conference.
Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani, Minister of State for Home, speaking on the occasion stressed the need for setting up an Academy of Forensic Sciences in the State. He said that we are in the process of putting in place a strong human resource of forensic science experts for undertaking DNA profiling, voice identification and effectively dealing with cyber crime and other acts of criminality. He thanked the Governor for inaugurating the Conference. He also thanked the Union Home Ministry for extending strong support to strengthen forensic science network in the State.    
Dr. C. N. Bhatacharya, Director/Chief Forensic Scientist, Directorate of Forensic Science Services, Union Ministry of Home Affairs, spoke about the aims and objects of organizing this Conference. He said that such annual Conferences bring together forensic scientists and other concerned to share their knowledge and approaches. He disclosed that three advanced Forensic Science Laboratories have been set up at Pune, Bhopal and Guwahati to strengthen forensic services in the country.
Mr. Bhagwan Shankar, Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of Home Affairs, addressing the inaugural session of the Conference, focused on manpower, training as well as equipment, technologies and practices for effective detection and investigation of crime. He emphasized that to secure desirable results formulation of a workable Action Plan is the need of the hour.         

GDA launches clean Gulmarg campaign
            SRINAGAR, JUNE 26: The Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) has launched a sanitation drive in the area from today. The participants who were part of the drive comprised 80 volunteers, mostly students, along with sanitation staff of Municipal Committee Tangmarg and Gulmarg.
During the drive part of the tourist resort was thoroughly cleaned of garbage and more such drives would be launched in future to so that the beauty of the place is maintained.

SIDCO nominated as Mission Directorate for Food Processing Industry; Slathia.
            SRINAGAR, JUNE 26- The 132nd Meeting of Board of Directors of J&K SIDCO was held on 26th June at Civil Secretariat, Srinagar under the Chairmanship of Mr. S. S. Slathia, Minister for Industries and Commerce.  The meeting was also attended by Sr. Government officials and representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and the Industrial Associations.
            The Board reviewed the progress on various industrial infrastructure projects undertaken by the J&K SIDCO. The progress on development works of the new industrial Estates of Ghathi, Kathua and Budgam, Ompora were also reviewed. The Board was informed that in view of the changed industrial scenario, resources profile of J&K State, and to rejunivate industrial activities within the state, Vision document 2025 was proposed to be prepared by the J&K SIDCO. The vision document will include conceptualization, identification and promotion of SSI and major projects in the state in tandem with various incentives / schemes offered by the GoI in the liberalized economic environment.
            The Board  was also informed that J&K SIDCO had been nominated as Mission Directorate by J&K Govt as well as Ministry of Food Processing GoI for implementation of the various financial assistance schemes  under the Food Processing Mission. This would give a boost to the promotion of Food Processing industries in the state.
            Managing Director SIDCO informed the Board that the corporation had earmarked app. 150 kanals of land at upcoming Industrial Estates Ompora for establishment of an Information Technology to be set up by the J&K e-governance agency in association with SIDCO. The Board was also informed that IT related industrial shed in IT Park Rangreth had been utilized fully and a number of IT units were functioning in the said park.
It was also revealed that software experts with an annual turnover of more than Rs. 5.00 cr was being achieved by the various IT units in IT Parks
            Mr. Slathia emphasized  on the judicious land use plan in the Industrial Estates of the state due to the scarcity of land. It was decided that modular industrial flats shall be constructed in various Industrial Estates .
            Mr. Slathia issued instructions for immediate retrieval of un utilized allotted land so that the same can be offered to prospective entrepreneurs being  in queue for allotment of land.

Chib inaugurates National Integration, Peace Youth Camp
SRINAGAR, JUNE 26: Minister for youth Services and Sports Mr. R S Chib inaugurated the ‘National Integration and Peace Youth Camp’ here today.
The 7-day camp jointly organized by Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and National Youth Project, New Delhi in collaboration with Department of Youth Services and Sports in which 338 youth from 25 states across the country are participating.
Welcoming the participants, Mr. Chib said National Integration Camps are held to promote the sense of unity in diversity among the youth of the nation by bringing them together irrespective of regions and religion. He said these camps play significant role in promoting integration and unity and help youth to get acquainted with customs, traditions and languages of their counterparts.
The Minister said such camps infuse the spirit of nationalism and unity among youth and prepare them to face challenges. He appreciated Dr. Subba Rao for introducing multi-lingual and multi-cultural identities of Indian nation as depicted in the presentation “Bharat ki Santan”. 
The Minister said the multi-ethnic identity of India’s unique civilization has flourished over centuries and is still alive unlike other civilizations. Hence, the youth should uphold the cultural ethos of Indian civilization, which he said, forms the binding factor in the unparallel India’s unity in diversity. Quoting an Urdu verse of Dr. Sir Mohammad Iqbal ‘Yunaan, misr wa rome sab mit gaye jahan se, ab tak magr hai baki, naam wa nishaan hamara. Kuchh baat hai aisi ki hasti miti nahi hamari, sadiyon raha hai dushman dore zaman hamara’.  It is due to the secular fabric, equality and democracy, India is being respected throughout the world.
Mr. Chib said that the country has vast human resources and need is to utilize this resource for constructive purpose. He said that the participants would play a role of ambassadors in disseminating the message of love, brotherhood and amity of the state in their respective areas. He also invited the participants to visit the border post at Suchetgarh, once the camp concludes.
Describing love, confidence and amity as peace weapon, Director, National Youth Project, New Delhi Dr. S N Subba Rao said that with their help peace and normalcy can be brought to the world. He also highlighted the aim and objectives of the camp and said that the through these camps, youth are involved in national service with discipline.
President, Youth Hostels Association of India (J&K) Mr. M S Pandit described youth as the asset of the country, adding that they form the backbone and no country develops unless youth participate in its development process. He referred to Bhakti and Rishi movements and said that the state has human value so at the time of partition, the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhiji realized the beacon of hope from J&K state.  He said the people of the state have always demonstrated utmost brotherhood, amity, calm and peace always at the hour of need. 
State President, Gandhi Global Family, Padam Shree S P Verma in his speech said that Gandhi Global Family propagates the ideology of Gandhiji which is the only way to bring peace in the world. He informed that the delegates from all across the country will also participate in the camp to be held abroad in future.
