The feeling of mourning and outrage at the loss among people is understandable and has to be respected the leaders felt.

The party leaders observed that the failure to protect such valuable assets in Kashmir has already cost this place dearly and by now lessons should have been learnt from such earlier tragedies. Qayoom in which all the lawyers participated and deliberated upon the issue. It was unanimously decided to call for one day Jammu Kashmir bund tomorrow on 26.06.2012 to express their grief and register protest against burning of the shrine and failures of Govt. to protect the historic centre of religious importance and cultural heritage. All political, religious, social, trade and transport organizations were appealed to support the bund call given by the Bar Association and express their absolute solidarity and unity on this spiritually and religiously sensitive issue and the general public was requested to maintain communal harmony and frustrate the Govt. designs. In the meeting it was observed that nothing can be said about the cause of the fire, but it is certain and prima-facie that the Govt., the WAKF Board Authorities and the Muslim Auqaf Trust who are actively managing the affairs of the shrine have failed to protect this historic shrine and are directly responsible for loss of spiritual centre and desecration of the holy relic and other holy Tabarukaat in the shrine.
It was observed in the meeting that the astaan-i-aaliya Peer Dastgeer Sahib, (Khanyar) Srinagar is a matter of faith for all communities including Muslims and Hindus as all the communities are spiritually attached to it.  Iran will invite Saudi King Abdullah to NAM summit

A senior Iranian official dismisses reports about Tehran’s refusal to invite Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah to the upcoming Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit in Tehran, saying an invitation will be presented to him.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran will extend [President] Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s invitation to the Saudi King to participate in the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Tehran,” Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian told IRNA on Monday.

Reports about Iran’s decision not to invite the Saudi King to the NAM summit are not valid, he added.

Earlier reports claimed that Tehran would not invite Saudi King Abdullah to the Tehran summit following the execution of a group of Iranian nationals in the Arab state.

On April 18, Press TV reported that Saudi Arabia had executed eight Iranian sailors in the eastern city of Dammam without any legal proceedings.

According to the Saudi Al-Tagheer news channel, the executions were carried out on April 15 on the order of the Saudi Interior Ministry, which has been implicated in the unrest in Syria and the violence in Iraq as well.

On May 30, the Persian-language Tabnak news website reported that Saudi officials in Dammam executed 10 more Iranian citizens.

The website added that a total of 25 Iranians were kept at Dammam prison of whom 18 were executed in two stages.

Amir-Abdollahian said Iran's Foreign Ministry is making use of all potentialities and is seriously pursuing the case of Saudi government's recent execution of 18 Iranian prisoners on false drug possession charges.

“We cannot regard the Saudi Arabia’s move as a simple and merely technical measure,” he stated.

After reports about the execution of Iranian inmates in Saudi jails were confirmed, Iran's Foreign Ministry summoned the Saudi Arabian chargé d’ affaires on June 11.

The Foreign Ministry expressed the Islamic Republic’s strong objection to the executions, announcing that Tehran will pursue the case by means of relevant bodies.

Iran does not seek to build nuclear weapons: Rafsanjani

Chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani warns European countries against a “big mistake” about Tehran, insisting that the Islamic Republic does not seek to build nuclear weapons at all.

“Nuclear weapons have lost their deterrence and the use of them by any country will inflict great and irreversible damage on nations and future generations,” said Rafsanjani in a meeting with Spanish ambassador to Tehran Pedro Antonio Villena Perez on Monday.

He added that European countries are making a “big mistake” by increasing their suspicion about Iran at an international level, IRNA reported.

He expressed hope that Spain, as a member state of the European Union, would take effective steps towards correcting such mistakes.

Rafsanjani emphasized that all nations, including the Islamic Republic, have the right to use the nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and called for joint efforts to build confidence.

He pointed to growing relations between Tehran and Madrid after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979 and said the Islamic Republic would proceed with its previous policy on the expansion of balanced, respectful ties with other countries.

The Spanish ambassador, for his part, said the main strategy of his country is based on resolving differences through diplomatic channels.

He added that despite certain problems between Iran and the European Union, Tehran-Madrid relations have been improved, particularly in trade and cultural fields.

The United States and the European Union have imposed tough financial sanctions as well as oil embargoes against Iran since the beginning of 2012, claiming that the country's nuclear energy program includes a military component.

Tehran refutes such allegations, saying that frequent inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency have never found any diversion in Iran's nuclear energy program toward military purposes.
