In an obvious reference
to mainstream leaders, Geelani said, “Some people are trying to mislead people
by harping about a change, however, after assuming power they leave no stone
unturned in persecuting people”.

raised by certain leaders about economic independence of the state, Geelani
said economy was not a solution of the Kashmir issue. “This is a dispute which
can only be solved by implementation of United Nations resoutions by allowing
people to decide their own future”, he said.
Geelani accused the
central intelligence agencies and the Government of India of spreading
immorality among the younger generations of Kashmirs. He also alleged the GoI
of exploiting the natural resources of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Geelani criticised, what
he called the heavy influx of outsider labourers to the Valley and said it was
being done on prupose. "One day they would become subjects of the state
and all this is being done to change the demography of Jammu and Kashmir,"
he said. (VOS)
