Govt. believes in sustained action than rhetoric: Sagar
Says opposition power hungry
PULWAMA, AUGUST 01 – Maintaining that the government has fulfilled its promise of empowering the Panchayati Raj Institutions, the Minister for Rural Development, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that we believe in sustained action rather than rhetoric besides selling false ideas and promises.
The Minister was speaking at a one-day interaction camp organized by Rural Development Department to monitor the status of implementation of the empowerment of the Panchayati Raj institutions (PRIs).
 Minister of State for Rural Development, Mr. Ajaz Ahmed Khan, Director Rural Development, Kashmir, Mir Altaf Ahmed, District Development Commissioner, Pulwama and other senior officers of different department were present.
The Minister said that the government has already released Rs. 285 crore for the construction of 1800 new Panchayat Ghars and renovation, repair of the existing ones. He said that we have already empowered Panchayati Raj Institutions with powers of 14 vital departments and ensured effective decentralization of democracy. “The Government has nominated Additional District Development Commissioner to monitor that the orders of empowerment of PRIs are strictly adhered to and we will not hesitate to initiate action against anyone trying to create hurdles in the same”, he added. 
Mr. Sagar said that panches and sarpanches form part and parcel of the governance and they should work in close coordination with the officers to ensure proper implementation of various welfare programmes. He said that the proposal for their remuneration has already been sent to the concerned.
Lashing out at the opposition party, the Minister said that their recent statements have reflected their hunger for power. They have got frustrated by the developments registered and popularity of the Omar led government and have now resorted to misleading the people of the state, he maintained and added that it was due to the tireless efforts of the Chief Minister that the people are now reaping the peace dividends.
Minister of State for Rural Development, Mr. Ajaz Ahmed Khan while speaking on the occasion said that the government by conducting Panchayati Raj elections and ensuring the empowerment of panches and sarpanches has ensured the effective decentralization of powers to the grass root level. He said that the officers should involve local representatives in policy making and implementation of various welfare programmes which would ensure that the benefit of these reaches the targeted populace.


3757 CFTs seized during the current financial year
Mian Altaf lauds FPF for curbing timber smuggling
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 01: Lauding the efforts of Forest Protection Force (FPF) and Forest department for curbing the timer smuggling in the State effectively, the Minister for Forest and Environment Mian Altaf Ahmed underscored the need for sustained drive against timber smugglers so that this menace could be controlled in the state.
Speaking at the review meeting of Forest Protection Department, Mian Altaf said forest smuggling in Pir Panchal and Rafiabad belts was a chronic and biggest challenge before the Department, adding that strenuous efforts of the employees of Forest Protection Force, besides Forest Department has curbed the menace of timber smuggling in these areas.  
Mian Altaf however said “No laxity in this regard will be tolerated” and warned the defaulting staff members for strict disciplinary action on any lapse in curbing the timber smuggling. He said the officials showing best performance would be suitability rewarded. He assured that all the genuine demands of the employees of the department would be redressed on priority.
The Minister exhorted upon the officers to work with dedication and honestly and strive to conserve the green gold of the state. He said for conversation of rich eco- system of the state more and more land would be covered under various schemes launched by the government for the purpose.
Director Forest Protection Force apprised the meeting that Forest Protection has seized 3757 CFTs of timber, 6 vehicles, 14 horses during the last 7 months of current fiscal in Kashmir division. He said 350 hectors of forest land have also been evicted; besides 80 poles of different species have been also sized during the said period. 
Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Mr. Vinod Ranjan, Commissioner, Secretary Forest, Mr. Ejaz Iqbal, Director Forest Protection Force, Mr. Mohammad Shafiq Khan, Divisional Forest Officer Shopian, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf and officers of the Forest Protection Department attended the meeting.  

Connect uncovered hamlets through road network: EC to PWD
                SRINAGAR, AUGUEST 01:- The Committee on Estimates (EC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly which held its meeting here today under the chairmanship of MLA Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan stressed upon officers of Public Works Department (PWD) to gear up their field functionaries for identifying the hamlets which are not covered under road network so far and asked them to formulate Detailed Project Reports (DPR’s) and submitt to the concerned quarters for early execution.
            Legislators, Dr. Mustafa Kamal, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, Mr. Abdul Gaffar Sofi, Mr. Mohammad Sharif Niaz, Mr. A. R. Veeri, Mr. Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Mr. Naresh Kumar Gupta and Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Mir gave their valuable suggestions for the improvement of the PWD and suggested for involvement of legislators while formulating any project in hand.
            Threadbare discussion was held on various schemes and projects under execution in ERA, PMGSY and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes. The panel directed the concerned to speed up the pace of work on all ongoing developmental works including Syedpora Bridge, Dr. Ali Jan Road, Naseem Bagh-Buchpora Road, Dalgate-Habbak Mirak Shah Road and complete them in a stipulated time frame.
            The Committee Stressed for maintaining close coordination with the other concerned departments so that the projects which require forest clearance and land compensation for acquisition purpose may be cleared on the priority. It also directed them to engage committed and honest lawyer to vacate the pending court cases, if any. The Legislators also stressed for clearance of liabilities under NABARD.
            The Panel opined that those areas which are not wrap under PMGSY, those may be considered for upgradation.

Cabinet approves 1129 posts of Asstt Professors
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 01: The cabinet which met here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Wednesday accorded sanction to the creation of 1129 posts of Assistant Professors for various government degree colleges to address the deficiency and to improve the higher education scenario in the state.
The cabinet also approved the transfer of land measuring 6 kanals belonging to J&K Industries at Muthi Jammu against compensation of Rs 50 lakh per kanal and 6 kanals of land belonging to J&K Industries situated at Solina Srinagar against payment of compensation of Rs 70 lakh per kanal to the Service Selection Board J&K for construction of its office complexes.
The cabinet also approved allotment of land measuring 3 kanals 2 marlas and 166 sft on lease belonging to Srinagar Development Authority situated at Sector 3rd Doodganga Srinagar in favour of Life Insurance Corporation of India. The allotment has been approved under Article 256 clause (2) of Constitution of India read with relevant provisions of J&K Land Grants Act 1960 through Ministry of Finance for the construction of Divisional office of Life Insurance Corporation of India.

CM launches Radio-Taxi in Srinagar
CS reviews hi-tech facility at Nowgam
            SRINAGAR, AUGUST 01 – The Hi-tech Radio Taxi initiative was launched by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah at a function here on Wednesday.
            Various Ministers and senior officers were present at the launching ceremony.
            Later, Chief Secretary Madhav Lal accompanied by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Asgar Samoon, District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Baseer Ahmad Khan and other officers visited the facility developed at Tourist Reception Centre, Nowgam to operationalize first of its kind Hi-tech Radio Taxi fleet in Srinagar. The Radio-Taxi is being provided by a private operator.
            The initiative has been launched to facilitate local commuters and Tourists and to help smoothen the transport system. In the first instance a fleet of 100 taxies has been introduced which will be increased gradually. The Hi-tech taxies will be operated by well trained drivers and the service will be available round the clock. These taxies will be available on call at Telephone No. 0194 2432432 and can also be hired through on-line booking. Each taxi is fitted with on road electronic billing system, GPS tracking system, route verification system, in Cab security and card payment system and will remain connected with the master control room.    

Dy CM greets people on Raksha Bandhan
            SRINAGAR, AUGUST 01– Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand today greeted people on Raksha Bandhan.
            In his message, the Deputy Chief Minister extended warm greetings for the auspicious occasion and prayed for peace, progress and prosperity of the state. He said the day symbolizes the bond of love between brothers and sisters.

6 accident cases cleared for disbursement of PWF
            JAMMU, AUGUST 01- The Committee to disburse Passenger Welfare Fund in favour of accident victims met under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and cleared six accident cases.
            The committee sanctioned an amount of Rs.4,25,000 in favour of dependents of the 17 passengers who lost their lives and Rs.4,20,000  in favour of 84 injured passengers. The committee has cleared all the pending accident cases.

DC Srinagar releases funds for Windstorm Sufferers
            SRINAGAR, AUGUST 01: The Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar has released an amount of Rs. 87.55 lakhs out of State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) in favour of those affected and eligible persons whose life and property suffered damage due to Windstorm of March 19-20, 2012. An amount of Rs. 78.80 lakh has been placed at the disposal of Tehsildar north Srinagar and Rs. 8.75 lakh with south for the purpose.  

Nomads asked to deposit fire arms in Police Stations
                BANDIPORA, AUGUST 01: In view of threat to the wildlife due to large inflow of nomads carrying fire arms alongwith into the Gurez area, the District Magistrate, Bandipora has directed those nomads who are visiting Gurez and Tulail area during summer season, that they shall deposit their licensed fire arms (12 Bore) at their respective Police Stations.

Workshop on Information Security Awareness conducted at Amar Singh College
                SRINAGAR, AUGUST 01: Daylong workshop on ‘Information Security Awareness’ was conducted by the Amar Singh College, Srinagar in collaboration with National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT). The resource persons in the workshop Senior Scientists Mr. Ashiq Hussain and Mr. Umar Iqbal Khan dwelt in detail about various cyber crimes and methods to avoid them.
            The workshop, which was attended by over 300 participants including the faculty members acted as an effective mechanism to understand the cyber laws and ways to implement these laws for ensuring crime less society.

Section 144 Cr. PC imposed around examination centres
            SRINAGAR, AUGUST 01: In connection with 12th class Bi-annual examinations which commenced from July 29, 2012, District Magistrate, Bandipora has ordered imposition of Section 144 Cr. PC around a radius of 200 meters of the examination centres established in the district.
            As per the order, no one except the examinees, supervisory staff and the deployed security personnel shall be allowed to enter these centres. This order shall remain in force till these examinations are over.

Chief Information Commissioner of India meets Governor
            SRINAGAR, AUGUST 1 – Mr. Satyananda Mishra, Chief Information Commissioner, Central Information Commission, met Mr. N. N. Vohra, Governor Jammu and Kashmir, at Raj Bhavan here this evening.
          During their hour long meeting, the Governor and Mr. Mishra discussed a wide range of issues relating to enlarging awareness among the people about their rights and privileges under the Right to Information Act and the importance of this law being effectively implemented for enhancing the interests of good governance and reducing corruption.

Sakina calls for address of women’s problems on priority
Board approves 7% DA and recruitment rules for Corporation
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 01:- 18th Meeting of the Board of Directors of J&K State Women’s Development Corporation was held under the Chairpersonship of Minister for Social Welfare who is also the Chairperson of the Corporation, Ms Sakina Itoo here today.
            Principal Secretary Finance, Mr. Mohammad Iqbal Khanday Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare, Mr. Jeet Lal Gupta, Director Social Welfare, Mr. Bashir Ahmad, Managing Director J&K Women’s Development Corporation, Dr. Naheed Soz and Directors of Board were present in the meeting.
At the outset the action taken report on several decisions taken in earlier meetings was deliberated upon at length. The ATR with  regard to the decisions taken in the 17th meeting were confirmed by the Board unanimously after thorough discussion. Simultaneously fresh agenda items were also discussed in threadbare and important decisions with regard to the better delivery mechanism were taken by the Board.
In today’s meeting the Board took important decisions which included release of 7% DA in favour of employees and recruitment rules of the corporation were also approved.
While perusing the targets and achievements registered by the Corporation, Board appreciated the efforts being made by the management in its endeavour.
            Ms. Sakina Itoo impressed upon the Corporation to strive hard to address the problems of women as per the mandate. She said the Corporation should make all out efforts to empower the women folk and provide justice to needy.
            She said it endeavour of the government headed by Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah to make the women equally partner in all spheres of life, therefore, their role is very important in the socio-economic development of the State, she added.

Omar highlights importance of handicrafts in JK’s economy
KU grants recognition to CDI’s Masters Degree in Craft Management
Srinagar, Aug 1 (KNS): Highlighting the importance of handicrafts in the growth and development of State’s economy, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Wednesday said that this sector has been employment provider to a large number of people since ages. He emphasized theneed for providing necessary succour to the artisans associated with handicrafts and giving considerable boost to this activity in the State.
Inspecting the functioning of Craft Development Institute (CDI) and Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (IICT) at Nowshera here, the Chief Minister said that imparting necessary trainings tothe artisans to utilize modern technology and factoring it in the traditional and heritage characteristics of handicrafts is need of the hour to provide strong edifice to this activity and upgrade its marketing.
Omar said that government has initiated various programmes to help balanced growth and development of handicrafts and handlooms in the State ensuring welfare and economic betterment of the large number of families associated with this sector. “While special programme for cluster development of artisans associated with the manufacturing of different handicrafts is under implementation, various new schemes have been introduced by the Industries Department to help artisans in the manufacturing and marketing of their produce.
The Chief Minister said that CDI and IICT have important role to play in the development of handicraft sector paving way for the young boys and girls to seek career in this economically important field.
At the Craft Development Institute, the Director, Farooq Ahmad presented brief about the functioning of the institute in a PowerPoint presentation. He said that first of its kind two years professional programme for Masters in Craft Management and Entrepreneurship has been launched in the institute this year which has been granted recognition by the University of Kashmir. He said admission process for this Masters Degree unique in the country has commenced from July this year.
Farooq Ahmad said that six traditional crafts of Kashmir origin namely Pashmina, Sozni-embroidery, Kani-shawl, Papier-Machie, Khatamband and Walnut Woodcarving have been granted Geographical Indication (GI) by the Government of India which denotes Kashmiri patent of these crafts.
The Director expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for sanctioning Rs. 2.75 crore for enforcement of GIs in Kashmir Pashmina, Sozni and Kani-shawl. He said that a modern testing laboratory has been constructed in the institute to analyze the Pashmina shawls and certifyits purity.
He said that registrations of GIs in26 European Countries, 20 Asian Countries, 15 countries in Russia, 11 countries in UAE and Middle East, 6 countries in South Africa and in three countries of USA, Mexico and Canada is under process. He said the process of recognition and representation to Kashmir Pashmina trade for labelling and branding is also in process with Manufacturers Institute at Bosta. He said that recognition of legal definition of Pashmina has also been taken up with Encyclopaedia Britannia. He said that a proposal for building the brand ‘Kashmir Pashmina’ at the international level has been drafted.
While granting revolving fund of Rs.75 lakhs to the CDI for carrying out its functioning hassle-free, the Chief Minister underlined the need for early start of Pashmina Testing Laboratory and providing certificate of genuineness to each shawl manufactured in the State so that its marketing gets catapulted internationally bringing glory to the State and economic welfare to the people associated with this trade.
At the Indian Institute of Craft Technology, the Director, Zubair Ahmad said that Craft Institute has designed modern carpet looms to make the weaving of carpets easy and comfortable for the weavers. He said that the old fashioned looms were troublesome for the weavers while the new looms designed and manufactured have removed all such shortcomings.
He also gave details about the trainings being provided to the carpet weavers and said that stipend of Rs.3500 per month and Rs. 1000 per month to each weaver getting training in two different categories in the institute. He explained the computerization method factored in developing designs and printing ‘Taleem’ (Special Coded Language for Carpet Weavers to weave the carpet as per the design, colours and particular pattern). He said this has made the process more easy and comfortable for carpet weavers. He said necessary training is being provided by the IICT in this field to the interested persons.
The Chief Minister interacted with the students who are in process of getting admission for Masters Degree in Craft Management and Entrepreneurship and told them that government would provide all help to them in self employment generating units after completion of training. He also interacted with carpet weavers under training in the IICT and enquired from them about the nature of training and their future plans.
The Chief Minister was informed by the Director Handicrafts, Muzaffar Hussain that 8000 modern carpet looms are being provided to the registered carpet weavers during this year. He said that15000 cases for issuing life time artisans cards to the genuine artisans is under process at present.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Minister for Industries, S. S. Slathia, MLA Zadibal, Peer Afaq Ahmad, Vice Chancellor Kashmir University, Talat Ahmad, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, B. B. Vyas, Commissioner Secretary Industries, Shantmanu and various senior officers from Industries Department.


4 grenade attacks from Kupwara to Srinagar
Srinagar, Aug 1 (KNS): Suspected militants launched four grenade attacks in different parts of Kashmir valley since last 24-hours, police said.
Police said militants hurled a grenade towards the house of Sarpanch Mohammad Rustum Dar son of Ghulam Hassan Dar resident of Nagri, Kupwara last night. The device exploded in the lawn resulting in damages to glass panes of the house. Police have registered a case in this regard.
Dar told KNS that at 1 in the night unknown militants hurled a grenade towards his house. “The grenade was thrown from backside of the house. I don’t know who is behind the attack,” he said.
Police have lodged an FIR 272/2012 and started investigations.
Last evening militants hurled two grenades in Sopore town. First grenade was lobbed towards Police Station Sopore which exploded in the compound damaging a vehicle parked inside. Police have registered a case in this regard.
Another grenade was hurled towards 179 battalion CRPF camp in Sopore late last evening. However no one was injured in the attacks.
On Thursday police said unidentified militants lobbed a grenade towards a picket manned by 154th battalion personnel of CRPF at Channpora Bridge.
However, it missed the target and exploded on road side, without causing any damage.


Contractors allege discrimination in allotments
Srinagar, Aug 1 (KNS): Kargil Renewable Development Agency (KRDA) has allegedly denied work to Kashmiri contracts in establishing micro hydro power projects on the pretext that
A delegation of contractors told KNS that the KRDA allotted work of all 11 hydro projects to contractors from Delhi.
“This is discrimination with Kashmiri contractors as we qualified the bidding process. The government had reserved the construction work of these projects for state subjects, but the KRDA threw all norms to wind.” They alleged.
J&K Government in 2005 under order number: 205 had given sanction that upto 10 MW mini hydro projects can be constructed by locals.
“However, the KRDA is giving preference to Delhi contractors. Two Kashmiri contractors who had qualified the bidding process were denied work,” the contractors claimed.


Guv, CM greet people on Raksha Bandhan
Srinagar, Aug 1 (KNS): Governor N N Vohra and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have greeted the people on Raksha Bandhan hoping that this auspicious occasion would usher a new era of sustained peace, amity, harmony, progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor said that Raksha Bandhan is a unique feature of India’s cultural ethos, symbolizing the special bonds between brothers and sisters. He said that this festival has a special significance for Jammu and Kashmir as the annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra concludes on this day and devotees pay obeisance at the Holy Cave Shrine on Shravan Purnima.
The Governor prayed for the well-being of the people of the State.
In a greetings message issued here today, the Chief Minister said that Jammu and Kashmir has great tradition of observing festivals and holy days in unity and togetherness. He called for further strengthening this trait and said that amity and brotherhood adds colours to the celebration of festivals. He prayed for the peace and development of the State and the country.


JK Bank organizes awareness camps in Pulwama, Kulgam
Srinagar, Aug 1 (KNS): J&K Bank today organized awareness camps at village Trichal in Pulwama and Munand Guffan in Kulgam, which were attended by a large number of apple growers, senior citizens and local residents.
Speaking at Trichal Zonal Coordinator (South), Rashid-ud-din stressed upon the need to empower growers financially and technologically to enhance the quality and the yield of apples in order to bring it closer to international standards.
He assured them of necessary financial support for achieving the desired objectives.
He also responded to the queries raised by the growers about the Apple Project and impressed upon them to avail benefits of the scheme for better yields and better earnings.
Head Business Unit Pulwama, Manzoor Ahmad Attar spoke about the scheme of subvention available to the growers as per terms of the revised Kissan Credit Card.
The Bank provides hassle free loans under the scheme and the cases are processed within 7 days only, he said.
Meanwhile at Munand Guffan, Kulgam Facilitator FLCC Kulgam A R Hakim spoke about importance and objectives of ‘Financial Inclusion’ besides services available with the banks.
He informed the people about various financial products like Apple Advance Scheme, Kissan Credit Card, Giri Finance, Dastakar Finance and other business loans. Deposit products too were talked about in detail.
Lead District Manager G M Dar further highlighted the importance of opening and maintaining of accounts with the Banks.

State terrorism has increased in Ramadhan: Mirwaiz
Srinagar, Aug 1 (KNS): Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Wednesday said that the continuous “state terrorism has led to increase in the bloodshed of common Kashmiris.”
“It is highly unacceptable in the sacred month of Ramdhan as it signifies blessing for the people. But it seems that India and its agencies have taken oath for ethnic cleansing of Kashmiris in this month,” he alleged in a statement.
The Mirwaiz who was addressing a gathering at Wazpora Masjid, Mehraj Gunj, said that after Bandipora, killing of a youth in Shopian were the glaring examples of state terrorism.
He said apart from killing people, inflation of commodities and non-availability of electricity are enough to gauge the anti-people policies of the puppet government.
The Hurriyat (M) Chairman said that Eid Nimaaz would be offered at historical Eidgah. He said that efforts were needed on emergency basis to restore the Eidgah for the nimazees. He said that administration and Auqaf should immediately take steps to repair the park and pump water out of it.
Meanwhile, following instruction from Mirwaiz, Hakim Abdul Rashid, led a delegation including leaders Abdul Manan Bukhari, Abdul Majid Wani, Yasin Hassan Malik to Sheikhpora Humhama Pandit migrant colony.
The delegation assured the Pandit community that they were the inalienable part of Kashmiri society. They also told them the Kashmiris would protect the life and property of pandit community as they are doing for themselves.
The delegation appealed the pandit community to live in Kashmir without any fear as they did in the past.


High level NCST delegation visits KU
Recommends establishment of Centre for Tribal Studies
Srinagar, Aug 1 (KNS): The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) will recommend and take up with Planning Commission and Ministry of Tribal Affairs the establishment of a centre for Tribal studies at Kashmir University which will produce an indigenous knowledge base for studying the social structure of the tribes and the issues thereof.
This was announced by  Dr Rameshwar Oraon chairperson National Commission for Scheduled Tribes at a review meeting on ‘ studies on culture , traditions  and socio economic conditions of tribals  in  J&K  held at  the committee room of the administrative block of the university of Kashmir
The meeting chaired by Vice chancellor Kashmir University Prof  Talat Ahmad was attended by  various  Deans of the faculties  and  some selected  heads of the Departments   .
Dr  Rameshwar was appreciative of the initiatives taken by the university of Kashmir  for taking steps   to develop the socio-economic status of the backward classes of STs. He said he is happy to see University of Kashmir so keen in carrying out research in the thrust areas of tribal studies which he said will generate human resources for the development of the trial’s within the state. Dr Rammeshwar was praise for the University of Kashmir  in following the reservation policy for the tribal’s and he announced  also  that commission will recommended an establishment of a hostel for students at Kashmir University.
Earlier Vice chancellor Kashmir University Prof Talat Ahmad said that University of Kashmir being a premier institution of the state is discharging its institutional role in letter and spirit and is offering 8% reservation for students belonging to scheduled tribe communities, besides providing scholarships and accommodation on priority basis, and providing inputs for the social policy and planning of the tribes. VC thanked the commission chairperson and his team for their plan to recommend centre for tribal studies at Kashmir University.

Nizam-u-Din Bhat distances himself from decision
Srinagar, Aug 1 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and MLA Bandipora Nizam-ud-Din Bhat has distanced himself from the decision reached in a meeting of the House Committee of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly “to ascertain the factual position regarding the illegal encroachment of wet land in Srinagar, Baramulla and Bandipore districts and conversion of Agricultural and Kahcharai land for residential purposes with particular reference to Shalteng and its adjoining areas within 10 KMs radius.
Bhat who was member of the committee told KNS that he wasn’t part of the decision. “When I left the meeting with the permission of chair, no decision had been taken at that time.
In last meeting I had said this committee has no mandate to give decisions but it can give recommendations,” he added.
Bhat claimed that the Committee was interfering in some sub-judice matters. “I appeal to the Speaker LA to intervene into the issue,” he said.
The meeting which besides Bhat was attended by Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, Syed Basharat Ahmad Bukhari, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, Abdul Majeed Wani and chaired by Mir Saifullah during deliberations among other things had observed, on the basis of the report submitted by the Commissioner, SMC, that BOCA had granted permission for the establishment of Automobile workshop in favour of Abid Ansari son of Molvi Iftikar Hussain Ansari, which has been turned into a sale and purchase centre of Toyota Automobiles in gross violation of the permission so granted.
The Committee while taking a serious note of this kind of violation, directed the Commissioner, SMC to lock the said sale centre immediately besides taking stern action against the officers responsible for encouraging such un-lawful deals and to furnish the compliance report to the Committee within a period of two days positively for deciding further course of action in this behalf.
