Farmers awareness camps
held at Arigam, Nishat, Abhama
Vegetables worth Rs.73
cr. were exported from District Budgam

At Arigam,
District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mr. Mohammad Rafi on the same event
stressed upon farmers to adopt latest modern technology and coordinate with
agriculture department for successful implementation of agricultural schemes
which will help to increase the economic status of farming community. He
directed agriculture department to organize such awareness camps at far flung
areas of District Budgam with coordination of other allied departments.
On this
occasion Chief Agriculture Officer Budgam said that from Budgam District
vegetable worth Rs. 73 crores were exported outside the state this year.
At the
conclusion of function District development commissioner Budgam distributed 50
polyfilms with Hybrid Vegetable Seed Kits among 50 Panchayat Halqas of Block
Khansahib for raising vegetable seedlings under protected cultivation.
At Nishat
Srinagar-Awareness-Camp, the Chief Agriculture Officer Srinagar, Mr. Sharief
Ahmad Dar advised farmers to adopt latest technology to boost agricultural
production along with Beekeeping, Mushroom and Vegetable
Cultivation.
Another Awareness Camp
was organized at Abhama Pulwama where Chief Agriculture Officer Pulwama, Mr.
Ghulam Hassan Guroo said that utilization of high yielding seeds and balanced
dozes of fertilizers are basic ingredients for ensuring higher
yields.
In
these camps, large number of farmers including Panchs and Sarpanchs participated
and they gave an over-whelming response and interacted with experts of
agriculture department on various issues related to Agriculture. Experts and
Officers of the Agriculture Department shed light on the progress and increase
of Agriculture Production and allied agriculture sectors in terms of new
methodology and techniques.
